The Overview Dashboard provides a high-level view of your AI spending and usage patterns. It’s your command center for understanding how AI costs are distributed across your organization, helping you quickly identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.

Overview

The Dashboard aggregates data from all your AI transactions to show:
  • Total spend across all AI providers and models
  • Spending trends over time (last 30 days, weekly, monthly)
  • Breakdown by providers (OpenAI, Claude, Google, etc.)
  • Top contributors to AI spend (by team, project, or user)
  • Usage patterns and trends
  • Cost per action metrics

Image Placeholder: The image above should show the main dashboard interface with:
  • Total spend card at the top
  • Time series chart showing spending trends
  • Pie chart showing breakdown by AI provider
  • Table showing top contributors (features, users, or projects)
  • Date range selector
  • Quick filter buttons for common views

Key Metrics

The dashboard displays several key metrics at a glance:

Total Spend

Your total AI spending across all providers and models for the selected time period.

Transaction Count

Total number of AI transactions processed during the selected period.

Average Cost per Transaction

Mean cost per transaction, helping you understand typical spending patterns.
Visualize how your AI spending changes over time with interactive charts: Spending Trends Chart - A line chart showing daily or weekly spending trends over the selected time period, with ability to toggle between different views
Image Placeholder: This should show a line or area chart displaying:
  • Daily or weekly spending trends
  • Ability to toggle between different time granularities
  • Comparison with previous period (optional)
  • Hover tooltips showing exact values
  • Interactive legend to show/hide specific providers or models
The trends view helps you:
  • Identify spending patterns - See if costs are increasing, decreasing, or staying stable
  • Spot anomalies - Quickly detect unexpected spikes or drops in spending
  • Compare periods - Understand how current spending compares to previous periods
  • Forecast costs - Use historical trends to predict future spending

Provider Breakdown

See how your spending is distributed across different AI providers: Provider Breakdown - A pie or donut chart showing the percentage of total spend by each AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.)
Image Placeholder: This should show:
  • Pie or donut chart with provider segments
  • Percentage labels for each provider
  • Color-coded segments
  • Total spend amount in the center (for donut chart)
  • Interactive hover states showing exact dollar amounts
This breakdown helps you:
  • Understand provider mix - See which providers you’re using most
  • Optimize provider selection - Identify opportunities to switch to more cost-effective providers
  • Track provider changes - Monitor how your provider usage evolves over time

Top Contributors

Identify what’s driving your AI costs with the top contributors view: Top Contributors Table - A table showing the top features, users, projects, or models contributing to AI spend, with cost amounts and percentages
Image Placeholder: This should show a table with:
  • Rank column
  • Contributor name (feature, user, project, or model)
  • Total cost
  • Percentage of total spend
  • Trend indicator (up/down arrow)
  • Ability to sort by different columns
  • Pagination or “show more” option
You can view top contributors by:
  • Feature - Which product features consume the most AI resources
  • User - Which users or customer segments drive the most costs
  • Project - Which projects or teams have the highest AI spending
  • Model - Which AI models are being used most frequently
Use the top contributors view to identify optimization opportunities. Features or models with high costs might benefit from optimization or alternative approaches.

Usage Patterns

Understand how AI is being consumed across your organization:

Peak Usage Times

Identify when AI usage is highest, helping you plan capacity and optimize costs.

Usage Distribution

See how usage is distributed across different features, environments, or user segments.

Cost per Action Metrics

Track efficiency metrics to understand the cost-effectiveness of your AI usage:
  • Cost per transaction - Average cost for each AI API call
  • Cost per user - Average AI spending per user
  • Cost per feature - Average cost for each product feature using AI
These metrics help you:
  • Benchmark performance - Compare costs across different features or time periods
  • Identify inefficiencies - Find features with unexpectedly high costs
  • Measure optimization impact - Track improvements after making changes

Filtering and Customization

Customize your dashboard view with powerful filtering options:
Choose from preset ranges (Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days) or select a custom date range to analyze specific periods.
Filter the dashboard to show data for specific AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.) or compare multiple providers side-by-side.
Focus on specific models to understand spending patterns for particular AI models or compare model costs.
Filter by environment (production, staging, development) to separate costs across different deployment stages.
View costs for specific product features to understand feature-level spending patterns.

Use Cases

The Dashboard is essential for:

Daily Monitoring

Check your dashboard daily to monitor spending trends and catch anomalies early.

Budget Planning

Use historical trends and current spending to plan budgets and forecast future costs.

Cost Optimization

Identify high-cost areas that might benefit from optimization or alternative approaches.
